A percentage of every Kraken Travel trip sold will go towards your sailing club and seagrass roots sailing projects

Whenever you book a trip with Kraken Travel, 2% of the value of the trip or yacht charter will be sent to your sailing club or class association and a further 0.5% will be given to the Kraken Foundation.

Our local clubs have been a force for good in our lives. They have been a platform for personal achievement, given us a sense of community, and fostered within us a lifelong love for the sport. Now it’s time to give back.

This is what our Founder Henry has to say about his local club:

“My sailing club in Norfolk got me on track to work in sailing – doing my Assistant Instructor course there when I was 16. This led me straight into working as a sailing instructor the next year. What a dream! Sailing every day for work and a decent bar too!”

“The club was also where I got my first taste of racing – trailing around the back of the fleet to start with before slowly working my way forward with my Dad or whoever else I managed to get on my Fireball. I made a lot of my closest friends here.”

“Now I go there with my kids and they are getting to have the same amazing experiences that I did when I was there as a kid. This is why I want to give back to my club.”

The majority of sailing clubs and class associations rely on volunteers often rely on volunteers and meager budgets to maintain and upgrade their facilities, host events, and manage the community. Our contribution will provide a greater financial cushion to these clubs so they can continue to do great work.

The Kraken Foundation

In addition to giving to sailing clubs and class associations, 0.5% of the cost of your trip will go towards The Kraken Foundation. Kraken Foundation’s mission is to get everyone out on the water, regardless of background, financial circumstances or physical ability. 

Sailing can be perceived as an exclusive or expensive hobby, which can deter many people from exploring the sport but we want to shatter those perceptions and demonstrate that sailing is for everyone!

Funds from The Kraken Foundation will be used to send a worthy individual on a trip that would not otherwise be able to join due to financial or perceived physical barriers. Nominate someone in your life who you think would be a worthy recipient of this fund.
