The courses are perfect for Volvo 60, giving us enough room to throttle up and unleash some of their speed potential but still small enough to provide the fun challenge of tactical buoy racing. With the modifications that have been made to our boats over their original round the world configuration, we can now run spinnakers and reaching sails with new crews who are still developing their skills.

Antigua Sailing Week includes its share of great parties and there is normally an international music act scheduled towards the end of the week. The ASW organisers and race officers are professional and experienced and put on a great event.

And of course, for us dreamers, there is the experience of walking the docks in English Harbour in the evening looking at the multi-million dollar yachts…
