Join one of offshore yacht racing’s premier events as you race from Malta, around Sicily and back in the thrilling Rolex Middle Sea Race.

608 nautical miles long and sailed anti-clockwise, the race begins in Marsamxett Harbour, north of the Grand Harbour, Valletta. The fleet heads North along the Eastern coasts of Sicily up towards the Straits of Messina, where Mt.Etna is visible on the fleet’s port side. Once through the Straits, the course leads north to the Aeolian Islands and the active volcano of Stromboli where the yachts turn West to the Egadi Islands. Passing between Marettimo and Favignana the crews head south towards the island of Lampedusa leaving Pantelleria to port. Finish the race in spectacular surroundings back on Malta as you pass beneath Fort St Angelo and the Saluting Battery in Valletta.

Over the course of the race, you will be given world-class coaching from a pro crew, with the opportunity to enhance your skills in every job onboard this iconic offshore racing machine. This yacht was raced as a team “Telefonica Black” in the 2008/09 Volvo Ocean race, famously winning the final stage of the round the world race in a spectacular fashion. From navigation to helming, with practice in trimming, grinding and foredeck, you can really get stuck in on this exhilarating trip.

Push your comfort zone for a truly genuine experience of life as an elite ocean racer, with basic race yacht accommodation: the trade-off for an invigorating ride around the 608 nautical miles. Whether you are a novice sailor or more experienced, this trip promises to get your adrenaline pumping, as you fully immerse yourself in the world of offshore, improving your racing skills and working as a team with your new crewmates.
