Build your miles and experience as you sail a high-performance ‘Volvo Open 70’ racing yacht in this five-day adventure from Portsmouth to Holyhead

 4 nights: 12 - 16 August 2020

£650 per person

Immerse yourself in the world of elite ocean sailing and add nautical miles to your logbook in this thrilling five-day journey from the south coast of England. Enjoying stunning scenery as we sail down the Jurassic Coast to the wonderful Cornish Harbour of Falmouth. We will then navigate between the Scilly Isles and Lands end before heading up to the stunning Pembrokeshire harbour of Milford Haven, before our final destination of Holyhead on Sunday night.

Over the course of the trip, you will be given world-class coaching from a pro crew, with the opportunity to enhance your skills in every job onboard this iconic offshore racing machine. This yacht was raced as team “Telefonica Black” in the 2008/09 Volvo Ocean race, famously winning the final stage of the round the world race in a spectacular fashion. From navigation to helming, with practice in trimming, grinding and foredeck, you can get as stuck in as you like on this exhilarating trip. If you are an enthusiastic Yachtmaster candidate, you will also have the opportunity to skipper a 60nm passage under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster Instructor.

Push your comfort zone for a truly genuine experience of life as an elite ocean racer, with basic race yacht accommodation and freeze-dried food: the trade-offs for an invigorating ride. Whether you are a novice sailor or more experienced, this trip promises to get your adrenaline pumping, as you fully immerse yourself in the world of offshore, improving your racing skills and working as a team with your new crewmates.
