Get your adrenaline pumping as you sail a high-performance racing yacht in this offshore Atlantic adventure

 14 nights: 03 April- 17 April 2021

£2500 per person

Experience the thrill of sailing a high-performance ‘Volvo Open 70’ racing yacht across the Atlantic Ocean, from Antigua to Portsmouth (UK), via the dramatic Azores.

During this incredible offshore adventure, you will be given world-class coaching, with the opportunity to enhance your skills in every job onboard this iconic offshore racing machine. From navigation to helming, with practice in trimming, grinding and foredeck, you can get as stuck in as you like on this exhilarating trip. If you are an enthusiastic Yachtmaster candidate, you will have the opportunity to skipper under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster Instructor as well as adding 3600nm to your logbook.

Push your comfort zone for a truly genuine experience of life as an elite ocean racer, with basic race yacht accommodation and freeze-dried food: the trade-offs for an invigorating ride across the 3600nm. Whether you are a novice sailor or more experienced, this trip promises to get your adrenaline pumping, as you fully immerse yourself in the world of offshore, improving your racing skills and working as a team with your new crewmates.

Joining the yacht in Falmouth, Antigua, you’ll be introduced to the boat and professional crew. You’ll then be briefed and trained-up on all there is to know about sailing a Volvo 70 before heading out of the harbour and straight into the great Atlantic ocean. Once at sea, we’ll first of all head for the Azores for a quick stop before the final leg towards the UK.

This is a fantastic ocean passage on an incredible yacht. You’ll gain some 3,500nms and a whole load of experience in process, crossing the Atlantic in a direction that few have (compared to the East-West route). Please allow between 14 and 20 days to complete this passage.

  • A place on the crew
  • Professional crew (Skipper, Mate/Navigator and two watch leaders)
  • Food, fuel and mooring fees
  • Wet weather gear
  • Travel to or from the boats
  • Food ashore
  • Some sailing experience is required.
  • A good level of fitness recommended.
