£2,500 per person

Book your berth on the Volvo 70 Telefonica Black for an incredible transatlantic and ocean sailing masterclass from St Lucia to Lanzarote. This fabulous Christmas adventure will provide excellent sailing, as well as festive-themed fun, and even a chance to meet Santa!

Crew arrive: 10 December 2020, Rodney Bay St Lucia

Safety Brief: 11 December 2020, St Lucia

Training Day: 13 -14 December 2020, St Lucia

Crossing departure: 14 December 2020, St Lucia.

Crossing Finish: ca. 30 December 2020, Puerto Calero, Lanzarote

The adventure takes you across 2,700 nautical miles of the Atlantic Ocean. We will leave behind tropical St Lucia and its two towering Pitons, and head for open water. This epic voyage will provide awesome sailing and you should keep your eyes peeled for whales!

During the crossing, we will celebrate Christmas together with lots of festive fun and the chance to meet Santa on board!

We have combined forces with Simon Rowell who will provide a practical weather routing and ocean weather training passage.

Prior to setting off, we will have a web seminar with Simon who will go over all the weather conditions we should expect. Daily we will email Simon with our observations and he will send the relevant weather info and information on how to fully extract the data you need to make routing decisions.

As part of this we will host a Q&A session with Simon (and the Skipper) every day so you can gain full understanding of the weather systems and the impact of the routing decisions. As a team with the skipper you will then decide the plan for the day and we put it into action.

We feel that this style of direct learning is one of the best ways to build confidence in your skills while is a safe environment working with an extremely experienced team.

We are offering 3 of our spots for a qualifying ocean passage. If you are interested please email us direct.

This Atlantic crossing on Telefonica Black is not only for the navigators, but it is also open to everyone as it is always great to have a fantastic mix of people onboard.

You truly get to sail this magnificent boat in conditions she was designed for, to quote one of our crew members on the Caribbean 600 “life is too short to cross oceans on slow boats”

The full-time crew will coach you on the helm, through the sail evolutions and if you want to you can head up to the bow for the sail changes. These trips are for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. You can get involved as much as you like, or you can sit back, enjoy the mid-Atlantic sail.

We aim to arrive in Lanzarote on the 30th December, providing time to ring in the New Year on land – but your berth onboard is available until 3rd January, so feel free to join us to celebrate 2021!
