Get your adrenaline pumping as you sail a high-performance racing yacht towards the stunning Unesco site of Malta.

4 nights: 06 - 10 October 2020

£650 per person

Experience the thrill of sailing on a high-performance Volvo Open 70 while honing your skills and building your miles. This trip is for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. Bagging at least 600 nautical miles as we sail Volvo Open 70 "Kraken" from Cagliari, Sardinia to Valetta, Malta as part of our Biscay Bash series.

On this leg, the final leg of the Bash, take in the salty sea air as you head towards Malta. Passing the tip of Italy on your left and Northern Africa on the right as you power towards your destination, windswept, salty, but happy, having accomplished an amazing journey onboard one of the most extreme racing yachts. Known for its Cathedrals, museums, and palaces, Valetta, the tiny capital of Malta will greet you with its 16th-century elegance. Described as 'a city built by gentlemen, for gentleman', this Unesco World Heritage site is one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world.

Over 5 days, you will have the opportunity to helm, trim, practice evolutions, passage plan, weather route and if you are a budding yacht master you can have the opportunity to skipper a thrilling passage under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster instructor.

Don’t think this will be a luxury ride! Such a high-performance racing yacht does not come with many creature comforts. Cramped quarters, freeze-dried food and basic accommodation are the trade-off for a fast boat, many miles, stunning scenery and the most exhilarating ride. We do it just as the elite ocean racers do so you truly get a genuine experience.

Join the Volvo 70, yacht Telefonica Black in Sardinia on the evening of 05th October 2020 to get settled, meet the crew, and have dinner before heading out the next morning for the beginning of the adventure.

The exact itinerary and stop-overs will be dictated by the weather forecast. There are several options en route to stop over, showcasing the best local life of Southern Italy along the way.

Your time onboard will involve not only sailing, but authentic racing snack lunches and freeze-dry lunches, meeting and working with lovely people, a huge amount of teamwork, and sitting down at the end of the day with a beer to prepare for the journey the following day.

You’ll arrive in Valetta, Malta on 10th October 2020. You’re welcome to stay on board the night of the 10th October for onward travel the following day.
