From £1,695 per person
During this adventure, you'll be guided by a local crew and explore all of the food and wine this region has to offer, including Marzamemi recipes, street food in Catania, and the brioches with granita in Taormina
Check-in Mazara del vallo marina
Welcoming, briefing and navigation to Marzamemi. Visit the gorgeous fishing village. No cars are allowed, so we can walk peacefully around the town and visit the most characteristic places, such as the Tonnara (tuna fishery) and Piazza Regina Margherita.
Navigation to Siracusa. Meet with a tour guide and visit Ortigia Island, the old town. We will visit the most famous places, like Maniace Castle, the beautiful Aretusa Fountain and the Cathedral.
Sail to Catania (about 35 nautical miles). The day will be entirely dedicated to sailing and the exploration of the southeastern coast of Sicily.
Visit of the characteristic places of Catania, such as Piazza del Duomo and the elephant statue, a symbol of the city. Later, a thrilling excursion to Etna, an active volcano 3350 metres high: trek along the trails which explore all sides of the mountain, admiring the varied landscape and stunning views of the volcano.
Sail to Taormina. The day will be entirely dedicated to sailing and the exploration of the east coast of Sicily: from the stacks of Acitrezza to Giardini Naxos bay, we’ll spend the night at anchor by Taormina.
Excursion to Taormina’s lively city centre, the Municipal Villa and its beautiful gardens; Piazza del Duomo with the cathedral; the spectacular Greek Theatre, which is located on a promontory and offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the Etna; the panoramic terrace Piazza IX Aprile.
Navigation to Milazzo with a lunch stop in Messina harbour in preparation to cross the Strait of Messina, which is 3 km wide and 16 km long. Specific atmospheric conditions in this area create an interesting optical phenomenon called the “Fata Morgana effect”: the illusion of a city suspended between earth and sky. Arrival and mooring at the marina of Milazzo.
After a casual breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the crew.
