This trip offers you a chance to obtain your Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passages, the opportunity to gain the required sea time and the chance to take a full part in the planning and preparation of the passage. Additionally, while acting as watch leaders during the charter, you will complete a prerequisite for the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean exam.

Yacht – Beneteau 47.7

The yacht is professionally maintained and raced competitively in major regattas and offshore events in the UK, Europe, and the Caribbean. She comes with an extensive racing sail wardrobe and has been modified from the factory original for ease and functionality of racing.

Our Beneteau 47.7 is MCA-coded category 2 for 14 people and ISAF coded to Cat. 1 She sleeps up to 10 in four separate cabins, and all berths are equipped with lee cloths for use at sea.

We offer you the chance to obtain your Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passages. We offer not only the opportunity to gain the required sea time but also the chance to take a full part in the planning and preparation of the passage as well as importantly allowing our clients to act as watch leaders all of which is a prerequisite for the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean exam.

Our ocean passages cover a distance of 600 nautical miles (nm) with our yacht having been at sea continuously for a period of at least 96 hours and having been over 50nm from land, continuously for a period of at least 48 hours or a distance sailed of 200nm.

Whether you are looking to purely undertake an ocean qualifying passage or to take part in one of our offshore race events such as the ARC we can offer a complete training package to suit your requirements.

Our Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passages vary in length but are usually 10 – 14 days in length.

We ensure that there is a maximum number of no more than 4 ‘Ocean’ candidates on each qualifying passage; we may have additional crew onboard but your instructor’s focus will be on the ocean candidates and their tuition & training.
