Sail the Rolex Sydney Hobart - in reverse and then onto Southport

11 nights: 20 February - 04 March 2023

Price: £4,245 per person

On this epic adventure, we retrace the course, in reverse before continuing to Southport, Queensland and take things a little easier to allow time to explore the New South Wales coast after crossing Bass Strait.

The crew dinner will be held on the ashore on the 20th of February 2023 after you arrive at Hobart Airport. The 21st of February will begin with the meeting for breakfast, then we will familiarise you with the yacht, systems and safety equipment and prepare you for departure, including running through final checks and preparations, before departing around midday. Our goal is to get to Southport by the 3rd of March, so you should plan to fly out of Gold Coast or Brisbane on the 4th.

Tasmania’s coastline has some of the best coastal scenery in Australia. We start the journey with a visit to Port Arthur, a convict settlement from the nineteenth century, and then we cruise past the towering dolerite cliffs of Cape Raoul, Cape Pillar, and Tasman Island. Then you’ll head north along the east coast to Maria Island, the picturesque Schouten Passage, and Wineglass Bay, with its white beaches and pink granite mountains rising steeply out of the sea. Then we’re off across Bass Strait to the safe harbour of Eden, before continuing up the coast to our next anchorage in Sydney or Pittwater.

With the central and northern New South Wales coasts, you’ll find picturesque spots like Broughton Island, Port Stephens, Iluka, and Coffs Harbour, as you travel north towards warmer weather and clearer skies.

Your crew package includes; all meals onboard, crew meals ashore in Hobart, Southport and various stopover ports en-route, accommodation onboard, your crew shirt, marina fees, race entry fees, the use of a PFD (personal flotation device), PLB (personal locator beacon), and a safety tether. Your bedding, a pillow and towel are also included along with suncream.

Your crew package excludes; accommodation ashore, flights and transport to and from departure and arrival ports, alcohol, toiletries, clothing and wet weather gear. You will need to complete a 2-day Sea Safety and Survival Training Course or equivalent at least 1 month prior.

Its always recommended that you book flights with date flexibility in case of unforeseen changes due to weather or schedules.
