The St. Thomas International Regatta weekend in the U.S. Virgin Islands is etched into every racer’s mind as the “Crown Jewel” of Caribbean racing.
6 Nights: 21 - 28 March 2021
£900 per person
The regatta features an impressive range of talent from professional sailors and avid weekend warriors to those just learning to sail, both adults and youth.
Centering the regatta activities around St Thomas Yacht Club the organisers draw on their experience of organising major regattas in the Virgin Islands, the Caribbean and around the world. It is the place to be for world-class racing and the chance to trade tacks and tactics with America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean and Olympic crews on the water and off.
If you’ve raced here in the past, you know that the competition and the camaraderie are unsurpassed. If you are contemplating making the trek for the first time, know that St Thomas will do their utmost to make it a special regatta just for you.
Starting off with 4 days of training and the bonus event of the Round the Rocks Race, featuring a scenic and competitive course circumnavigating the 19-square-mile neighbouring island of St. John, home of the Virgin Islands National Park. This race is ideal to familiarise the crew with the waters, the breeze and building strong team work. It is followed by 3 regatta days directly afterwards.
Arrival in St. Thomas and welcome on board at the yacht club. Meet your skipper and crew, followed by a safety brief and the regatta programme. You will spend the day getting to know your crew, followed by getting the boat ready for the regatta and training to bind the team into a race crew.
After breakfast you will continue to make last enhancements to the boat and commence with the next 3 days of training.
At 11.00hrs the St. Thomas International Regatta will kick off with a warm-up Round the Rock Race around St. Johns followed by dinner at St. Thomas Yacht Club.
The race days start with a complimentary breakfast between 08:00-09:00hrs. Each race day starts at 11.00hrs followed by happy hour, post-race music and an optional dinner at St. Thomas Yacht Club.
