Find yourself powering across the Atlantic to Las Palmas on this awesome adventure
4 Nights
£950 per person
Experience the thrill of sailing on a high-performance Volvo Open 70 in the Atlantic Ocean while honing your skills and building your miles. These trips are for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. You can get involved as much as you like, or you can sit back, enjoy the mid-Atlantic sail.
Over the 5 days, you will have the opportunity to helm, trim, practice evolutions, passage plan, weather route and if you are a budding yacht master you can have the opportunity to skipper under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster instructor. Best of all you’ll get at least 700 miles in your logbook.
Don’t think this will be a luxury ride! Such a high-performance racing yacht does not come with many creature comforts. Cramped quarters, freeze dried food and basic accommodation are the trade-off for a fast boat, many miles and the most exhilarating ride. We do it just as the elite ocean racers do so you truly get a genuine experience
Join the Volvo 70, yacht Telefonica Black in Gibraltar to get settled, meet the crew, and have dinner before heading out the next morning for the beginning of the adventure.
On the first day, after a safety brief, deck orientation, skills and drills we will get out the charts and plan our passage to Las Palmas. Then after 5 days of sailing, you’ll arrive in Gran Canaria tired, happy and with a whole heap of miles under your belt.
Your time onboard will involve not only sailing, but authentic racing snack lunches and freeze-dry lunches, meeting and working with lovely people, and a huge amount of teamwork.
You’ll arrive in Las Palmas mid-afternoon giving lots of time to relax and explore. You’re welcome to stay on board that night before your onward travel the following day.
