Various Dates in July are available

Looking for something highly thrilling, but not sure where to start? This day sail experience aboard the Volvo 70 may be short and sweet, but is packed to the brim with adventure and will provide a true taste of speed and high-performance sailing.

During the day you will have the opportunity to helm, trim and grind your way around the Solent, blasting around the Isle of Wight. You have the chance to get involved as much or as little as you like. You will be sailing with the pro crew, with some world-class coaching or you can sit back, enjoy the sail and take in the stunning scenery that the south coast has to offer.

This yacht, in particular, was raced as team Hypr (formerly Camper) and finished second place in the 2011–2012 Ocean Race (by the name of Camper Lifelovers). Meaning it’s built for speed, not comfort, facilities onboard are sparse and not particularly luxurious. In return, you’ll do just as the elite ocean racers do to get a truly genuine sailing experience

Your Day on Board HYPR

Join the yacht at Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth at 0900hrs on the experience day, in time for your safety briefing, training, and a quick boat tour. Once we’re all ready, we’ll head out to the protected water of the Solent, where we’ll get to grips with the boat. Once we’re ready and if the weather is right we will head out into the English Channel, or possibly even go for a lap around the Isle of Wight, where you’ll have the opportunity to try multiple roles on board, including, helming, grinding, pit and bow.

During the day you’ll experience all aspects of elite sailor life, including the chance to enjoy some scrummy freeze-dried lunch whilst at sea, and multiple snack breaks.

After a great day of sailing, we’ll head back to the civilized shores at approximately 1800hrs. Here we will say our goodbyes, and you can head to one of the seaside pubs to recover from a day of fun-filled thrill.
