Life is too short to cross oceans on slow boats, so jump on board the Volvo 70 for a master class from the best in passage planning
23 nights: 11 December 2021 - 03 January 2022
£2,500 per person
We have combined forces with Simon Rowell to provide a practical weather routing and ocean weather training passage. Prior to setting off, we will have a web seminar with Simon who will go over all the weather conditions we should expect. Each day we will email Simon with our observations and he will send the relevant weather info and information on how to fully extract the data you need to make routing decisions. You will also be able to do a Q&A session with Simon (and the Skipper) every day to get a full understanding of the weather systems and the impact of the routing decisions. As a team with the skipper, you will then decide the plan for the day and we put it into action. Our aim is to help build confidence in your skills while is a safe environment working with an extremely experienced team.
This Atlantic crossing on Telefonica Black is not only for the navigators, it is open to everyone as it is always great to have a fantastic mix of people onboard. You truly get to sail this magnificent boat in conditions she was designed for, and improve your sailing and navigational skills along the way.
The full-time crew will coach you on the helm, through the sail evolutions and if you want to you can head up to the bow for the sail changes. These trips are for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. You can get involved as much as you like, or you can sit back, enjoy the mid-Atlantic sail.
