Explore the British Isles at full power as you blast your way over to Ireland on a Volvo 70

4 Nights: 07 - 11 June 2022

£950 per person

Experience the thrill of sailing on a high-performance Volvo Open 70 over to beautiful Ireland. These trips are for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. You can get involved as much as you like, or you can sit back, and take in the British Isles in all their glory.

Over the passage, you will have the opportunity to helm, trim and grind your way over to Ireland! You have the chance to get involved as much or as little as you like. You will be sailing with the pro crew, with some world-class coaching or you can sit back, enjoy the sail and take in the stunning scenery that the south coast has to offer.

Don’t think this will be a luxury ride! Such a high-performance racing yacht does not come with many creature comforts. Cramped quarters, freeze-dried food and basic accommodation are the trade-off for a fast boat and the most exhilarating ride. We do it just as the elite ocean racers do so you truly get a genuine experience.

Join the yacht at Gunwharf Quays for your safety briefing and a quick boat tour and training. Then we’ll leave the protected water of the Solent, heading for open water. Rounding the point of Cornwall, then heading up the East coast of Ireland to Wicklow. During this trip you’ll have the opportunity to try multiple roles on board, including, helming, grinding, pit and bow.

  • A place on the race crew
  • Professional Race Skipper and four additional professional crew
  • Food, fuel, race entry and mooring fees
  • Travel to or from the boats
  • Food ashore
  • Some sailing experience is required.
  • A good level of fitness recommended.
