Cowes Week is one of the largest yachting regattas in the world. It has been running since 1826 and now attracts over 1000 yachts and up to 8000 racers from all over the world. Racing takes place on the Solent, which is a challenging stretch of water between the Isle of Wight and the ‘North Island’ as the locals call the mainland.

It’s a challenging regatta with strong tides, interesting race courses that you just don’t get in other regattas, and really good shoreside activities with something for everyone.

Cowes Week is one of the largest yachting regattas in the world, it’s been running since 1826 and now attracts yachts and racers from all over the world. Racing takes place on the Solent, which is a challenging stretch of water between the Isle of Wight and the ‘North Island’ as the locals call the mainland.

Yacht – Beneteau 47.7

The yacht is professionally maintained and raced competitively in major regattas and offshore events in the UK, Europe and the Caribbean. She comes with an extensive racing sail wardrobe and has been modified from the factory original for ease and functionality of racing.

Our Beneteau 47.7 is MCA-coded category 2 for 14 people and ISAF coded to Cat. 1 She sleeps up to 10 in four separate cabins, and all berths are equipped with lee cloths for use at sea.

Itinerary

28 July 2023 – Training Day

Arrive on the boat and meet your skipper and crew, followed by a safety brief and the regatta program. You will spend the day getting to know your crew.

29 July – 04 August – Regatta Week

There is usually one race per day lasting around 4 to 6 hours and most racing utilizes the many laid race marks around the Solent itself.
