Blast your way around the English Channel on the awesome Volvo 70
3 Nights: 22 - 25 July 2021
£450 per person
The Channel Race was originally the second ‘ocean race’, established by the Ocean Racing Club in 1928. In those days the race was aimed towards smaller boats and the course included the Cherbourg Breakwater. In recent years this course has been set around marks, the exact route decided after taking into account the wind and tidal conditions.
Start: Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, 22 July 2021 (pm)
Training: 23 July 2021
Race: 24 July 2021
Finish: Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, 25 July 2021
Board the boat on Thursday evening, to get settled and acquainted with the boat. This will include a tour of the boat and a safety briefing. We will then have the whole of Friday to get in some training for the race the next day.
Then after a night on the docks, we will head out to the start line on Saturday morning in readiness for the race. This is a 110-160nm race; the course will be announced by the race committee 24hrs before the start.
