If you are looking for a weekend of adventure and challenge – the RORC offshore races are perfect for you!
RORC Morgan Cup: 7th - 9th June 2024
Price: £499 per person
Each race is organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, and follows a different course, with its own set of challenges, so every race is a new adventure. In 2024 the Salcombe Gin Morgan Cup race will again be heading to the popular Devonshire port of Dartmouth. The Cowes-Dartmouth race course covers a distance of approx. 110-160 NM.
Located on the River Dart, facing the Kingswear side of the river where the Royal Dart Yacht Club is situated. Dartmouth is a lively, attractive harbour town with a strong naval history. These days all Royal Navy officers are still trained at the Britannia Royal Naval College, situated on the hill overlooking Dartmouth.
Unusually, while the RORC may run the Morgan Cup, the trophies awarded to the winners are owned and administered by the Royal Thames Yacht Club (RTYC) – including the prestigious Morgan Cup trophy itself, donated to the RTYC in 1929. For those fortunate enough to win, the trophies are awarded at the RTYC Annual Dinner in London.
With well-maintained racing yachts and top racing skippers, some fantastic results have been secured in the RORC offshore races over the past few years – and if you’re looking to actively contribute to a competitive team, to help continue this winning trend – then we’d love to hear from you.
Please note that this event starts and ends in Port Hamble Marina, Hamble, near Southampton.

RORC Morgan Cup
This year’s Morgan Cup race will finish in the beautiful harbour of Dartmouth and, so as not to reproduce another ‘Myth of Malham’ race course, some virtual waypoints will likely be used to provide some variety and different tactical challenges. One of the jewels in the crown among West Country harbours, Dartmouth, plus Kingswear opposite, and the always welcoming Royal Dart Yacht Club make this a popular sailing destination.
Dates: 7th – 9th June 2024
Hamble, UK. Located just outside the City of Southampton with all major transport (road, rail & air) links. Closest airports: Southampton, London, (Heathrow) & (Gatwick). We suggest using a taxi transfer from Southampton if using public transport rather then using the local rail station which is some distance from the yacht base; on a slow rail service. Parking available on-site at yacht base.
