If you are looking for a weekend of adventure and challenge – the RORC offshore races are perfect for you!
RORC Cherbourg Race: 6 - 8 September 2024
Price: £499 per person
The RORC Lewmar Cherbourg Race course is relatively modest at only around 75 miles, however, this is as tactically challenging as any race crossing the Channel. If you are looking for a weekend of adventure and challenge – the RORC offshore races are perfect for you!
As usual, exiting the Solent cleanly is the first hurdle, then the usual south-bound crossing taking into account the tide, sweeping competitors east or west, together with any weather features anticipated during the crossing. While it is not as strong as the Alderney Race away to the west, the tides approaching Cherbourg are still strong and, even once inside the breakwater of the Grande Rade, positions have been known to change with the finish line in sight. Being the last domestic regatta of the year it's always a good excuse for a party!
If you’re looking to actively contribute to a competitive team – then we’d love to hear from you.
Please note that this event starts and ends in Hamble Point Marina, Hamble, near Southampton.

Hamble, UK. Located just outside the City of Southampton with all major transport (road, rail & air) links. Closest airports: Southampton, London, (Heathrow) & (Gatwick). We suggest using a taxi transfer from Southampton if using public transport rather then using the local rail station which is some distance from the yacht base; on a slow rail service. Parking available on-site at yacht base.
