Race dates: 07 - 13 July 2024

Come aboard a Volvo 65 on this challenging offshore sailing race that covers a 600NM course starting and ending in Sounion, Greece under the tutelage of the Austrian Ocean Race Project, a young and ambitious team of international professional sailors led by accomplished and highly competitive Dutch skipper, Gerwin Jansen. During the first few days in Sounion you will have some time to explore the city. Take in the stunning coastal scenery and the archeological sites, and make sure you visit the Temple of Poseidon (the first Athenian landmark that can be seen from the Aegean Sea) to ask for still waters, but strong winds for your race!

On the fourth day the time of waiting will finally be over and you are off!! You will pass through various Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. Together with the professional crew, navigate your way through the Aegean archipelago, where you will possibly encounter a variety of weather conditions to test your sailing skills over several days of racing. Crossing fingers that you will come out on top when it comes to the awards ceremony!

Why You’ll Love This Trip

  • You're in for the thrill of competitive offshore racing, promising an exhilarating experience that's hard to match.
  • As you sail, the ever-changing backdrop of the Greek islands will provide breathtaking views, ensuring a visual feast throughout the race.
  • Tackling diverse weather conditions as you navigate the Aegean Sea is guaranteed to sharpen your sailing techniques and foster a strong sense of accomplishment.
  • With your eyes on the prize, the competitive edge of the race will heighten the excitement, leading up to a potentially rewarding finish at the prestigious awards ceremony.

Who The Trip Is For

  • Limited sailing experience? Don’t stress because that is all you need! The rest you will learn along the way.
  • This is not a trip of pure luxury. Curling up in racing bunks, sleeping in shifts and self-service meals only add to the experience.
  • There are only 7 spots available, so make sure you get in there early.
  • If you’re a team player and you enjoy seeing what a team can accomplish when like minded people put their minds and their physical abilities to the test then you will fit right in!
